Once upon a chilly London evening, two people who preferred cosy pub nights or evenings in with friends found themselves, against all odds, out on the town.

Tom was celebrating the birth of his baby niece, basking in the glow of new unclehood in Angel, London. Meanwhile, Andy was wrapping up her flatmate's birthday celebrations near St. Paul’s Cathedral and debating whether to meet up with another group of friends. But plans can be fickle—especially when Andy’s signature flakiness kicked in.

After much back-and-forth with a mutual friend, Andy promised she’d join her. True to form, her friend was sceptical, but Andy made a vow to show up and, against every instinct to head home, dragged herself to Angel. She had no idea how fateful that decision would be.

When she arrived, there was a small group—Tom, her friend, her friend’s boyfriend, and a couple of vaguely familiar faces. Andy found herself standing in the corner, awkwardly scrolling on her phone. That’s when Tom made his move.

“Let me see your Spotify playlists,” he said, completely out of the blue. Surprised, Andy handed over her phone. As he browsed, Tom looked up and declared, “You’ve got the music taste of a 50-year-old man. I think I’ve found the one.”

And just like that, in a burst of spontaneity, Tom proposed. Yes, really. Right there, in the middle of Angel, with Spotify as his witness. The two spent the rest of the night pretending to be married, laughing until their cheeks hurt, and sharing one of the best nights of their lives.

From that unforgettable night, a shared adventure began. They explored new places, shared countless laughs, and created cherished memories together. They moved in, adopted their beloved dog, Khufu—who is truly the best boy—and discovered how much stronger and happier they were as a team.

What started as a whimsical proposal has grown into a life full of love, laughter, and partnership—and they can’t wait to continue the adventure together.
